Otokar Expands into Technological Solution Exports

 First Bus Monitor Exported to Portugal

Otokar, the leader of the Turkish bus market for 15 consecutive years, is elevating its success in vehicle exports by venturing into exporting technological solutions. The company recently exported its self-developed telematics solution, Bus Monitor, to Portugal.

Otokar, a Koç Group company, is expanding its export portfolio of vehicles to include technological solutions. The recent export of its first telematics solution, Bus Monitor, to Portugal marks a significant milestone for Otokar. Designed to optimize public transport operations, Bus Monitor helps operators and municipalities reduce costs, enhance efficiency and plan maintenance to ensure uninterrupted service.

COMPREHENSIVE VEHICLE DATA MONITORING

Bus Monitor provides an innovative and efficient solution for the management and optimization of bus fleets. The software, developed in-house by Otokar, continuously collects data through a telematics device integrated with the vehicle’s Fleet Management System (FMS). This data is instantly processed and displayed on the user interface. Bus Monitor, capable of sending real-time alerts to mobile devices as SMS, monitors critical technical data such as door position, air conditioning, interior temperature, battery level, current speed, engine oil level, pressure and temperature, gas and brake pedal position and more.

PROACTIVE FAILURE DETECTION

Bus Monitor can be seamlessly integrated with company ERP systems and tailored to meet specific customer requirements. The solution provides real-time monitoring of various data, including mechanical failures and engine oil temperature. By generating alerts based on system data, Bus Monitor detects potential issues proactively, preventing costly breakdowns through predictive maintenance.
