Visitors can discover the SEAQUAL® Collection at Hall 4, Stand 420, where Camira will create an immersive experience that brings the urgent issue of marine plastic pollution, to the heart of the event. An estimated 14 million tonnes of plastic enter the ocean every year¹, and without urgent intervention, it’s projected there could be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050.²
Made from plastic waste recovered from oceans, rivers, and coastal areas, each metre of the SEAQUAL Collection contains the equivalent of up to 35 plastic bottles. A fully upholstered coach interior can divert over 2,400 bottles from marine ecosystems.
Developed in partnership with the global SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, a unique community transforming marine litter into textile solutions, the SEAQUAL Collection features two lightweight, flat-woven fabrics: Oceanic, with a diagonal twill, and Quest, a subtle hopsack weave.
The collection is 42% lighter than traditional wool transport fabrics and surpasses 100,000 Martindale cycles, demonstrating exceptional durability. The collection also uses Camira’s patent-pending Eco FR technology, a sustainable, halogen-free, flame-retardant backing.
Ciara Crossan, Camira’s Head of Creative – Transport said: “Busworld is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase how we’re transforming one of the world’s most resilient waste materials into a fabric as fluid as the waves that inspired it. The SEAQUAL Collection offers operators a sustainable textile solution without compromising on performance or style.”
On Monday, 8th October 2025 at Busworld, Camira will be joined by Francois Devy, Managing Director of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE to share the SEAQUAL story and conduct a brief Q&A.
Francois Devy commented: “Unlike many recycled fabrics that use inland-sourced plastic, SEAQUAL targets waste already damaging marine ecosystems, this creates greater environmental impact while also supporting local communities. We’re incredibly excited to support Camira at Busworld to showcase an industry innovation.”
Join Camira at Hall 4, Stand 420 during Busworld 2025, where a design-led stand will immerse visitors in the story behind the SEAQUAL Collection, inviting bus and coach manufacturers, operators, and designers to explore a new wave of sustainable interiors.
