Expect evolution and innovation from new exhibitors at Automechanika Shanghai 2025

As the automotive industry undergoes transformation driven by technological breakthroughs, a new wave of pioneers emerges to meet evolving needs. These players will converge at Automechanika Shanghai 2025, showcasing their latest innovations from 26 to 29 November at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). With over 7,000 exhibitors expected across 383,000 sqm, the event stands as a premier international platform covering the entire automotive value chain. This year’s surge in participation from both established automakers and emerging players underscores the show’s critical role as a marketplace for forging strategic partnerships and expanding market presence.

Ms Fiona Chiew, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “Automechanika Shanghai showcases the latest technologies and innovations, making it a focal point for the global industry. The event has increasingly become a pivotal international platform that consolidates industry resources and, in turn, promotes strategic collaboration from vehicle manufacturing to the aftermarket. Simultaneously, innovations are propelling advancements in production, which are generating opportunities across the entire automotive ecosystem, that the event uniquely unites.”

Carmakers and suppliers leverage the global influence of Automechanika Shanghai
A surge in engagement from carmakers reflects a desire to use Automechanika Shanghai to build awareness, expand global footprints and forge partnerships with an aim to futureproof development alongside transformations across OE, supply chains to after-sales services. Amongst the many conglomerate car manufacturers eager to leverage these international resources are Changan, SAIC, and Stellantis, alongside emerging forces like Chery Holding, GAC Aion, and Li Auto.

For instance, Chery Holding, Li Auto, GAC Aion, Guangxi Auto are prime examples of how carmakers are growing their presence at the show. These companies will showcase assisted driving technologies, ride-hailing, smart driving solutions, charging infrastructure, new energy powertrains, innovative methanol, and hydrogen engines and aftermarket supply chain services. Other newcomers include DDAC, Dongfeng Wheel, FAW Foundry & Forging, TSINTEL Automotive Technology (Weichai), and Yuchai Parts.

Ms Li Zhang, Chairperson of China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd, added: “The automotive industry is advancing rapidly, making supply chain collaboration essential. Automechanika Shanghai focuses on NEV solutions and supply chain upgrades, connecting distributors and suppliers with innovations, which create excellent opportunities for the application and promotion of these new technologies. It helps Chinese corporations engage with global markets and drive green initiatives and intelligent transformation in the sector.”

Overall, these exhibitors are excelling across multiple sectors, balancing solutions for both fuel-type and new energy vehicles, an interplay that Automechanika Shanghai has expertly fostered over the years. Moreover, as aftermarket services in China grow, players are diversifying products to meet current vehicle needs. The country’s burgeoning lower-tier cities and the rapid growth of the independent aftermarket are also significant drivers motivating exhibitors to participate in the exhibition. The show provides crucial access to these expanding markets, allowing exhibitors to build their reputation, increase brand awareness, and connect directly with their end customers.

This year, the show welcomes new global players in numerous fields across Parts & Components. FFT (Germany), Garrett (Switzerland), and Miba (Austria) are amongst some notable participants with innovations in filters, turbochargers and friction materials. Others include leading automotive suppliers Aisin, Astemo, Bilstein, Bosch, Continental, FAWER, Henglong Group, Mahle, Nidec, Qingshan Industry, SDS, Tianrun, ZF and Zhongding Group.
