Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 Raises the Slogan: “Endless Events and Activities”

Messe Frankfurt Fair ground at city of Frankfurt witnessed the the 28th edition of Automechanika Frankfurt, the world’s leading biennial trade fair for the automotive aftermarket. The 2026 edition exceeded all expectations, with the organizers achieving impressive results in terms of exhibition space, the number of participating companies, and visitor numbers. This further confirmed the fair’s prominent position on the global stage, both in terms of international participation and the diversity of visitors from countries around the world.

The exhibition took place from September 8–12, presenting some of the world’s largest displays covering spare parts and automotive and truck component industries, future technological solutions, workshop and service-center equipment, as well as automotive accessories and related products. More than 4,400 international companies from 80 countries participated in the 2026 edition. The exhibitors occupied a total area of approximately 340,000 square meters, spread across more than 26 halls, many of which extend over multiple floors. Preliminary statistics indicated that visitor numbers were expected to exceed 115,000, representing more than 170 countries worldwide.
During the exhibition’s opening ceremony, Detlef Braun, Member of the Board of Management – Messe Frankfurt, highlighted the continued success story of Automechanika Frankfurt. Despite challenging global economic conditions, the exhibition recorded an approximately 5% increase in the number of exhibitors. Around 4,400 exhibitors from more than 80 countries participated, showcasing their innovations and solutions at the fully booked exhibition center. Automechanika Frankfurt also offered a diverse and comprehensive program featuring more than 500 events. Against the backdrop of ongoing geopolitical crises, Automechanika provides an opportunity to strengthen resilience and maintain a presence in international markets.

Automechanika and the Innovation Awards:

The focus placed on the Innovation Awards ceremony at the exhibition reflected the organizers’ clear recognition of the importance of making future-oriented visions for the automotive industry a priority for global companies.
As with recent editions of the exhibition, more than 185 products competed in the Automechanika Innovation Awards. A number of companies behind the most outstanding and creative innovations were honored during a special ceremony on the first day of the exhibition. The awards covered the following categories:

Automechanika Academy – Reinforcing the Shift Toward Green Vehicles and Connected Technologies:

In a clear strategic direction, the exhibition management placed strong emphasis, through numerous presentations and discussion topics at the Automechanika Academy, on future technologies for green vehicles powered by alternatives to conventional fuels under the concept of Future Mobility.
These technologies include electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cells, and hybrid vehicles, while considerable attention was also devoted to the future connectivity systems of automobiles. This included vehicle connectivity with centralized management and control systems to facilitate greater integration with modern electronic applications. A series of seminars and conferences were dedicated to this subject under the title “Driving Transformation.”

Focus on Services and Spare Parts for the Transportation Sector:

The exhibition organizers did not limit their efforts to providing exhibition halls for manufacturers of passenger-car parts and services. They also provided a dedicated guide to participating companies that offer services or manufacture components for the transportation sector in its various sizes, under the name “Truck Competence.”
This initiative reaffirmed the organizers’ recognition of the importance of the transportation sector within the global automotive ecosystem. It also represented an active effort, in cooperation with exhibitors and companies operating in this field, to introduce visitors and specialized customers to the latest technologies in truck services, spare parts, and transportation solutions.

Unprecedented Activity in Workshops and Educational Lectures:

One of the most important features of Automechanika Frankfurt is the range of free training courses and workshops offered during the exhibition, catering to professionals, trainees, and even students studying in the automotive sector.
In addition to the Automechanika Academy, which organizes numerous seminars throughout the exhibition, a large number of practical workshops and training courses were held, particularly in the fields of repair, painting, and electronic technologies. These sessions attracted large numbers of interested participants from Germany and abroad.

Quick Highlights from Inside the Exhibition:

• With a strong focus on innovation, transformation, sustainability, continuous training and education, and talent acquisition, Automechanika Frankfurt was more diverse and exciting this year, going far beyond the traditional concept of a trade fair. Through the Future Mobility Park, Automechanika Pitlane—introduced for the first time—and the Experience Park, innovations were transformed into live experiences for visitors. Guests were able to look forward to numerous live events featuring prominent personalities, engine sounds, exciting challenges, exclusive insights, and a nearly 200-meter-long service lane dedicated particularly to motorsport, which itself witnessed exceptional activity in the exhibition’s outdoor area.
• The new HighTech4Mobility Forum, located in Hall 2 (Festhalle), focused on developments in software-defined vehicles, autonomous driving, and digital services. The forum addressed numerous topics related to the future of the automotive industry and vehicle connectivity.
• The Future Mobility Park, located in the outdoor Agora area, showcased innovative vehicles and prototypes. These ranged from the “lux025” solar car, which has already traveled 3,000 kilometers relying exclusively on solar energy, to the “muc022,” currently regarded as the world’s longest-range electric vehicle, in addition to an autonomous race car developed by RWTH Aachen University. An all-electric drive system for go-karts from BRP-Rotax, designed for young karting enthusiasts, was also presented. Visitors had the opportunity to test a variety of vehicles equipped with innovative propulsion technologies through test drives.
• The exhibition hosted the “Golden Classic” Awards, organized by AUTO BILD KLASSIK, on the stage in Hall 11.1. The winning vehicles were subsequently displayed on the exhibition grounds. As for innovations that will shape the future of mobility, the PIONEER AWARD featured ten selected startups from Germany, France, Israel, Austria, Sweden, and Switzerland, each presenting its future-oriented solutions in short presentations.
• An entire section of Hall 12 was dedicated to automotive oils and engine additives, alongside car-care and cleaning products. Numerous internationally recognized brands participated in this sector, including the renowned Malaysian company Petronas, a sponsor of the Mercedes Formula 1 team, as well as LIQUI MOLY, which presented a large booth showcasing the company’s latest products, along with the German companies Wolf and Petzold.
• The service-center and workshop-equipment sector had a strong presence at this edition of the exhibition, particularly with wheel-balancing equipment, a wide range of diagnostic systems, lifts, and wheel-alignment equipment. Leading exhibitors included the American company Hunter and Italy’s CORGHI.
• The exhibition grounds also featured a selection of sports and racing cars, including cars competing in the Formula 1 World Championship, as well as numerous vehicles from the World Rally Championship, touring-car racing, and other prominent racing series and teams.
