World Premiere – Z9 at Level 4 from SKYWORTH
Skyworth presents five electrified commercial vehicles – including a world premiere. The highlight is the world premiere of the heavy electric truck “Z9”. The manufacturer combines an electric drive with Level 4 automated driving technology in the 6ร4 semi-trailer truck. The Z9 uses two electric motors with a total output of 610 kilowatts. Skyworth states the maximum torque as 1,160 newton meters. The energy is supplied by a 400 kilowatt-hour LFP technology battery. For the automated driving functions, the manufacturer relies on five LiDAR sensors, five radar sensors, and ten HD cameras. The sensor system is intended to enable a 360-degree vehicle detection.
Alongside the Z9, Skyworth is showcasing the “G18.” The garbage collection truck is also expected to be capable of automated Level 4 driving. This allows the manufacturer to extend the program beyond traditional freight transport to municipal applications. The announced vehicle program also includes the “Urban Elf Robobus.” According to Skyworth, the autonomous shuttle bus is intended for use in areas such as parks, corporate campuses, airports, and residential complexes. The program is rounded off by the “Hongtu V9” and the “Hongtu X.” The V9 is designed as an electric van for urban logistics. The Hongtu X is an electric chassis with a range extender. According to the manufacturer, the concept can be configured for various body styles. This solution is aimed at applications where a standardized van is not sufficient.
